What I ate at Shenzhen & Hong Kong, Business Trip Edition

Hello,

I know it's been a while since I posted. I was on another business trip to visit the HQ at Shenzhen, China for the Lunar New Year office party. I stayed for almost two weeks, and have been really busy meeting some of my colleagues for the first time.
That being said, I did ensure that I was having lots of great food and took pictures for the blog post.
After coming back home, I caught a horrible flu and could barely eat soup and porridge for several days which delayed things with the blogger post again. But now I feel great, and ready to roll. :)

First meal at Shenzhen was dumplings of course. The black thing was pickled seaweed and surprisingly good.

I didn't manage to take picture after all food items arrived. But this was famous for steamy white rice delivered in mini rice cooker for each table.

First team dinner was hot pot.

More dumplings doing a 1on1 with my manager.
I tried the red bean soup that you can see at the top left corner of the table, because it looked very similar to the Korean red bean porridge. But the taste was very blend and boring.

I had so much red bean items while in China, because they are hard to get in Europe.
I had this Oolong tea ice cream with silken tofu pudding, and red bean on top after an hour long bike ride on Friday evening after work. It was truly amazing.

Clean and semi-fancy Japanese meal for my lunch at Hong Kong.
We visited Hong Kong for one day in the weekend. This was a refreshing time to walk around alone without having to spend every single moment with colleagues, which was very needed.

Dessert: did someone say red bean??

I had to get a nice dessert from Dalloyau. I used to have this chain bakery at Seoul near where I lived. It wasn't anything super special, but nostalgic.

Matcha mochi waffle
I was expecting the mochi to be inside the waffle batter, but they put a thin sheet of mochi over the waffle. It was really good, but massive portion.

Cantonese noodle soup dish with duck meat
This was surprisingly good, although it looks really boring.

Chinese convenience store oden bar

Garlic fish stew with eggplant
This was simply amazing.

Some Thai food because I was getting a bit tired of Chinese food at this point. ;)

Salmon pasta bowl

Eel don
The eel looked pretty basic, but it was properly grilled and torched. So good.

More fish!
A lot of Chinese food have the bones on them, so it is impossible to eat clean and not spitting out the bones. This is not regarded as rude or disgusting, because most dishes require you to do so.

This was braised beef and raddish noodle soup at the Hong Kong airport.
My flu was kicking in slowly, and this was such a great dish while having runny nose.
