What I ate during business trip at Istanbul & time off at Athens

Hello,

I stayed at Istanbul for about 10 days, and at Athens for 2 days. It was my first time visiting both countries. Many people hyped about Turkey having great food, but in my opinion the option was very limited if you wanted something other than Kebab.
I was not able to get proper meal during the business trip unfortunately, but I tried to get as many pictures as possible during my stay to share!

First meal at Istanbul, kebab and cheesy bread

This was my go-to breakfast at the hotel. Yogurt, muesli, chia, honey, egg, pancake, and some sausages. Although we stayed at a 5 star hotel, the breakfast option was not very exciting.

Another kebab

Turkish tea, it wasn't anything special just simple black tea.

Steak dish at a fancy restaurant, meal and dessert cost around 40 Euro which is Amsterdam price.

More kebab. The chicken was very juicy but it was still kebab...

Lamb, potato, yogurt, and spice

Turkish pizza

When I was lucky enough, I could grab some meal from the hot buffet catering at the event venue. The hot meal was very good but came with ridiculous price tag.

Room service Turkish pizza (although it looks very different from the one above), this was around 10 Euro.

I went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner on my own to get something different from kebab.

Finger food from the afterparty
The food quality was very low, but I was genuinely grateful that there was warm food served at least.

We flew to Athens afterwards!

Mousaka, in my opinion it's a healthier version of lasagna.

This was millefeuille with home-made cream at Folk. It was a lot bigger than I expected, and tasted way better too. The restaurant was cute and other food menu looked great too if you'd like to try.

Greek food did not seem very special especially because we just came from Turkey. So we went to an Indian restaurant with good Google review. This place was great too! The sizzling tandoori chicken was only 10 Euro for two gigantic thigh pieces.

Lastly we went to an Italian restaurant. The food was good, but portion was enormous.

Because we stayed at the very touristy area of Athens, most restaurants demanded for tips (which to be clear is in no way required as European servers get paid livable wage) and were a bit overly friendly for European standard in my opinion. Since it was winter there weren't that many tourists, but it was still nice to see Acropolis and other historic pieces all over the city and walking a lot. Athens is a very small city, and I do not see myself coming back here but perhaps going to one of the islands in the summer for vacation.
