STORY TIME

This week's meal plan is shorter than usual because I flew back home on Wednesday evening. We also had team lunch and office Christmas party, so I kept the grocery list to minimal level. I have been using Too Good to Go app to usually get pastry and baked goods from Starbucks mostly. However, few shops nearby have had very good ratings on the app so I decided to try them out. In case you are not familiar with the app, it connects customers to various shops so they can purchase items that will be thrown away by the shop at the end of the day for huge discount to pick up during a specific time window.
I have been pleasantly surprised by Le Pain Quotidien surprise boxes lately. They are really packed with sweets and usually lots of healthier meal bread too. This week, I specifically asked for a surprise box without meal breads, because I still have two loaves of bread in my freezer from the previous visit.
Ekoplaza is similar to Wholefoods, but much much smaller. They carry lots of organic or expensive items. I normally don't shop here, but decided to try out Too Good to Go surprise bag for the fun of it.
The result was satisfactory, although the blueberries were mouldy already. The expiration date of the skim milk was the date of pick up, but we all know that milk stays fresh for quite some time after anyway.
Overall I love the concept of Too Good to Go, and wish I live in the center of Amsterdam to have better options.

Thursday team lunch was at Nela, a relatively new fancy restaurant located at Amsterdam Zuid.
The main client target is finance district workers coming for business lunch and dinners.
The food was great, interior was cute, server was friendly, and the gastronomic tiramisu with coffee in jelly bubble from the bottom picture was amazing! I've been told that this place is better for lunch than dinner however.

Thursday dinner: After picking up pesto and shrimp from Too Good to Go surprise box, I whipped up quick pasta dish.

Friday lunch: Black angus bo burger
My college had a late night food truck that sold burgers. Any burger with fried egg was called "Bo Burger" so I'm following with the tradition.

Friday dinner: Office Christmas party
The food was surprisingly good, but the service took over 3 hours as an understaffed restaurant was serving around hundred of us.

Saturday lunch: I did not have much appetite, so I had the roasted chestnuts (yes, they're still back!) and some chips.

Saturday dinner: Pizza

Sunday dinner: Veal entrecote, sweet potato, veggie
