As mentioned briefly in the last post, I've stayed at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for two weeks on business trip. Flying from Europe to Asia is extremely challenging in terms of the timezone adjustment. I gave up on trying to adjust the timezone and had very irregular sleep and meal times. Travelling overseas for work may sound exciting, but it gets draining quickly. I was in constant fatigue and it felt like I was taking a dot damage the last several days for being under a massive stress and workload.
But enough with complaining. I arrived back at Amsterdam this morning, and I LOVE coming back home. Sleeping in my own bed, using the washing machine, preparing and eating my food - these are my biggest joys.
I will come back with the weekly meal blog from next week, but here's a fun collage of what I ate in Malaysia. Most beverages and many food items were very sweet. My MY based colleague said that obesity and diabetes rate in Malaysia has been a huge issue for a while now, and I can see why. I had to specifically ask to remove sugar when ordering simple drinks like barley tea, coffee, matcha latte. And some of these items were still sweet after surprisingly. I tried to stick to mostly Asian meals because they tasted authentic and much more affordable compared to Amsterdam.

| The frozen yogurts had weird sweet taste that I wasn't fond of. But my local Amsterdam froyo place started charging 5 Euro for a small basic yogurt without any topping, so I wanted to have some froyo before coming back to Ams. I don't plan to go back to the local place anymore due to the outrageous price. |
